June 2016. Bill Moore, CEO of PENSERVCO, was recently re-appointed to the FICPA Educational Foundation Board for three more years. In addition, Bill is a member of three other committees directly affiliated with the FICPA: the Suncoast Scramble Committee, the Scholarship Committee, and the Marketing & Public Relations Committee.
We are fortunate to have such a dedicated fundraiser as our CEO. Way to go, Bill!
PENSERVCO is a repeat offender when it comes to raising scholarship monies for deserving accounting students. Bill Moore and his staff have been actively involved in the community for over a decade.
Sarah attended Monster Jam with her husband and step son as an ongoing yearly tradition. They met up to tailgate with neighbors where they played cornhole and feasted on smoked ribs, brats, cheesy potatoes, fruit and cupcakes. The show was pretty good but not as good as past years. There were a lot of newer trucks. A few of the trucks attempted back flips and there were quite a few wrecks. All in all it was a fun night.
Sarah Thomas, PENSERVCO's Associate Pension Administrator, changed her last name to Huckstep on April 23, 2016, in Palm Island, FL, tying the knot with the love of her life, Doug Huckstep.
The two met at the Charity Works golf tournament at Bellaire Country Club that PENSERVCO hosts every November.
An unexpected shark attack almost put an end to the post-nuptial celebration, but all participants emerged unscathed.
July, 2016. Kyle Roose, son of Katie Roose (President of PENSERVCO), has been racing BMX since the age of 5. He is now 11. He began his BMX experience in Oldsmar. However, racing is all over the country. He started as a novice, moved up to intermediate and became expert in a short period of time. At the age of 6, Kyle won the Disney Cup which is an honor and quite the accomplishment. He is a hard, determined rider and hopes to continue his journey as a successful BMX rider. His parents couldn’t be more proud!
August 3, 2016. Bill Moore, our venerable CEO, and his grandson, Gene, attended a fabulous CPE event held at Tropicana Field. This annual fundraiser for the FICPA Educational Foundation is always a great time. This is Bill's 12th year in a row of attendance.
The event features two hours of Continuing Professional Education in one of the VIP lounges, unlimited food, an open bar, and great seats in the front row. This year the seats were on the third base line.
A great time was had by all. After the game, Bill's grandson, Gene, said, "Are you going to this again next year? Can I go?" We think he had a good time.
May 2016. With up to 40 hours of CPE, national speakers, fun for everyone and an exciting new location, the 2016 FICPA Mega CPE Conference was a huge success.

Bill is on the far right next to retired MLB umpire Richie Garcia.
July 2016. PENSERVCO's Senior Pension Administrator, Christine Connolly, recently traveled to New York City to attend an exciting performance of Public Service Broadcasting. This unique show was held aboard the USS Intrepid, July 15th and 16th.

In live audio-visual “transmissions,” PSB weaves samples from old public information films, archive footage and propaganda material around live drums, guitar, banjo and electronics. Beaming the past back at us through vintage TV sets and state-of-the-art modern video projection devices, PSB teaches the lessons of the past through the music of the future.
July 2016. Sarah Huckstep, PENSERVCO's Associate Pension Administrator, went to Crystal River over 4th of July weekend to go scalloping for the very first time.
"We went to three different spots and by the third spot all of us were loading up. We got our maximum allowable amount of 10 gallons. I had so much fun snorkeling around looking for them and then diving down to scoop them up, sometimes getting two and three at a time. It can be a little tiring. We also cleaned them ourselves, which was an experience! It’s pretty time consuming but we were able to clean most of them before we made it back to the springs to swim. It was all so rewarding once we made dinner that night. We grilled them up on the half shell with some butter, garlic salt, lemon juice and parmesan cheese. They were delicious!! If you’ve never been scalloping before I highly recommend you get out there and see what it’s all about."
